Description
Bare engine block from a 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. This engine was removed from the vehicle due to a single lifter and camshaft lobe failure. The cylinders measure out to standard bore (4.055″). There are no deep gouges or marring anywhere in the cylinder walls, but there is some light rust staining in a few of the bores, so having the cylinders checked by a machine shop before use is recommended. We would recommend a cylinder hone at the bare minimum. All of the gasket mounting surfaces are in good shape with no major damage. The lifter bores are in good condition with no deep gouges or areas of concerns, and all 16 lifters came out smooth and without issue when the engine was disassembled. The main journals appear to be in good condition, and when disassembled there were no spun bearings or any signs of excessive heat on any journal. All 8 piston oil squirters are intact and undamaged. All of the threaded bolt bosses and mounting points are intact and undamaged. Assembly comes as shown, and includes all five main bearing caps and bolts. This block should be checked by a professional machinist prior to use as it may need bored, honed, or other repairs. The images are of the actual item you will receive.
