Description
Block with crankshaft and 6 pistons and rods from a 1998 BMW M3 with 179,164 miles. This short block was disassembled for inspection. The block is in good used condition with no visible cracks or any other serious damage. The cylinders are standard bore (86.4mm) and still show good crosshatching throughout all cylinders. There are no deep gouges or marring anywhere in the cylinder walls. The cylinders may need honed but having it checked by a machine shop for their opinion is recommended. All of the gasket mounting surfaces are in good shape with no major damage. The main journals are in good condition with no spun bearings when disassembled and shows no signs of excessive heat on any journal. The crankshaft has been measured and both the rod and main journals are within standard specifications. When disassembled the rod bearings were unspun and had no signs of heat damage. The rings are free and unbroken and are included, but should be replaced prior to installation. Assembly comes as shown with crankshaft and includes all seven main bearing caps and bolts. This block should be checked by a professional machinist prior to installation as it may need bored, honed, or other repair. The images are of the actual item you will receive.
