Description
Bare engine block from a 2008 Chevrolet Impala SS 5.3L. This block was removed from a vehicle that had lifter damage. All 8 cylinders measure out to standard bore (3.780″). The cylinders have some minor wear and scuffing throughout, but no gouges, pitting, or anything that catches a fingernail. It is our opinion that a simple hone would take out any imperfections the bores may have, but as with all of our used engine parts it is recommended to have this block checked by a professional machinist for potential cylinder taper or out-of-round. All of the gasket mounting surfaces are in good shape with no visible damage. The lifter bores appear to be in good condition with no deep scratches, gouges or any other damages, and all 16 lifters came out with ease and no issues. The main journals are in good condition, show no signs of excessive heat, and had no spun or damaged bearings when disassembled. All threaded holes and bolt bosses appear to be in good condition and undamaged. Assembly comes as shown, and includes all five main bearing caps and bolts. This block should be checked by a professional machinist prior to use, as it may need honing, boring, resurfacing, or other repair. The images are of the actual item you will receive.

This engine has a bellhousing bolt pattern designed for GM front-wheel drive (FWD) vehicles, and this will NOT work with the typical rear-wheel drive (RWD) transmission options. This was a 58x engine.
